All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
The Principal’s Canteen operates during the normal school day and is managed by a canteen supervisor with volunteer parent helpers.
Unlike other schools, the Farrer canteen provides a range of merchandise for the boarding students similar to that of a small general store. The canteen is also open at times outside of normal school hours including 6pm-7pm on Saturday nights before the movie.
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
is appropriate for the full range of school activities
Uniform Shop - For the convenience of parents and students, Farrer provides an onsite uniform shop and clothing pool.
The school has outstanding facilities including: a number of well equipped and newly refurbished science laboratories; seven computer rooms as well as wireless access in all classrooms; a well-appointed library, with a dedicated area for senior students, which is staffed to make it available after hours; excellent Technology and Applied Studies workshops (including metalwork, woodwork, graphic design and food technology); quality Music and Visual Arts facilities. The construction of Trade Training Centres on the Farrer Farm and at Brewongle (which were completed in 2012) ensures that Farrer continues to have outstanding agricultural facilities which make it a leader in agricultural education.
