Year 11 & 12 Farrer students and some Year 12 Peel students ventured to Wollongong and Sydney on 3rd, 4th & 5th February to tour Wollongong University and two Sydney Universities. On Sunday night we stayed at Kooloobong College at Wollongong University and following an early start we attended their Experience Day. We were one of many schools from around the State and we were able to attend 3 or 4 sessions of interest to us. At around 2pm we were back on the bus and heading for Macquarie University, North West of the ‘big city’. That evening we had a campus tour, with some of their students, and later that night our group went for a look around Macquarie Shopping Centre. There was lots to see including some masterful ice skating by Julius, Eli and Cole – only hitting the floor a couple of times!
Tuesday morning a few lads were woken up with a very strong coffee made by Mr Arranz followed by a campus tour of the University of NSW.
This experience for our group gave us all a real understanding of future opportunities for ourselves and a brief look at a city lifestyle.
On behalf of the lads that toured I would like to thank Ralph the bus driver, Mr Arranz for organising the trip and Ms Allen for assisting us.
