Samuel completed his tertiary studies at the University of Newcastle, after which he relocated to Tamworth in 2012. In 2013, he began his teaching career at Farrer in the Faculty of Mathematics. Between 2020-2021, Samuel served as the acting Head Teacher Administration between 2020-2021 and was appointed acting Head Teacher Planning and Assessment in 2023. 

Samuel’s main educational interests involve exploring the applications of Mathematics and mathematical thinking within real world contexts. He is also interested in technological advancements and how they can be utilised in the classroom to achieve improved outcomes for students. With a passion for continued learning and development, Samuel collaborated with other schools and community organisations to plan and lead a Tamworth Schools' Professional Learning Day with a focus on Aboriginal Education that was held with great success at Farrer in April 2023.

Samuel has a long history of involvement in sports coaching at Farrer. He served as the First XIII's assistant coach from 2015 to 2018 and subsequently coached numerous Rugby Union teams, and he is dedicated to the growth and development of the game at Farrer.
