Year 7 Enrolment Process
The process to apply to enrol at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School for Year 7 students differs for Day Students and
Boarders, due to a new process introduced in 2022 to enable early admission for Boarders.
Early entry offers for agricultural boarders - How it works
- An early entry offer process has been developed for students from regional and remote areas who apply for boarding at an agricultural selective high school. Note that local students, in the Tamworth area, will not be considered for an early entry boarding offer.

Students will be;
- considered for an early entry offer when submitting their online selective high school application, similar to early entry to university.
- required to complete an application for residential boarding and provide evidence of academic achievement.
- invited to attend an interview at their chosen agricultural school. This will help the school get to know the student and their interest and readiness for a boarding school experience.
- A conditional early entry offer may be made after consideration of a student’s location, academic achievements and their readiness for the boarding experience prior to sitting the selective schools test.
- Students conditional offers will be confirmed once the Selective High School Placement Test results are released. Provided students’ performance in the test is similar to their school academic achievements, their place is assured.

Year 7 Boarding Student

SEPTEMBER Attend the Year 5 Experience Day on the last day of Term 3. |

OCTOBER - NOVEMBER Year 5 boys register for State Based Selective Schools Test. Visit the Selective Schools website for useful information, including sample test papers, which will help prepare your son for the exam. |

NOVEMBER - APRIL Applications received and interviews held for prospective boarding students at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School. Conditional early entry boarding offers made prior to the sitting the selective schools test. |

MARCH Attend Farrer Open Day - experience the school, meet the teachers and tour our facilities. |
|
MAY Sit the State Based Selective Schools test. |

AUGUST Results released and early entry offers confirmed by Selective Schools. Enrolment Packages will be sent out from Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School. |
