2.20 School Manual: Suspension & Expulsion

Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School manages Suspension and Expulsion in accordance with NSW Department of Education Student Behaviour Policy. Local procedures below, including our Unacceptable Behaviour Procedure, also apply.

The Principal will determine if a student’s misbehaviour is severe enough to warrant a suspension from school. Students who are suspended are demoted two colour levels.

2.20.1 Suspension

In the case of a student being suspended;

  • A suspension letter is forwarded to parents, together with departmental information in regard to suspension from school.
  • Classwork, assigned by class teachers via Google Classroom, is to be completed at home whilst the student is on suspension.
  • A mandatory parent interview is held.
  • A mandatory referral is made to the School Counsellor or Social Worker
  • Students suspended from school for any reason will not be able to represent the school in any sporting or other event, nor will they be able to attend any non-mandatory excursions.

2.20.2 Expulsion

In extreme cases, the Principal may expel a student from Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School or recommend to the NSW Secretary of Education the expulsion of a student from the NSW Government School system.
